Here is a link to the current predictions for the PCCs. Basically the current is usually much less than on the City Front, about 2 knots max. During the PCCs, we'll mostly be sailing on the ebb with slack water ranging from 11:38 (8/9) to 13:43 (8/12). There is also less power boat traffic so I think the chop is often less (but when the wind is honking who can tell?).

Here's a chartlet that shows, roughly where the course will be. Off the image to the left is Alcatraz. Point Blunt in the upper left is on Angel Island. You can get an idea of what the wind is like by checking the Point Blunt wind speeds.
